We won! We removed Joe Manchin’s Dirty Deal from the upcoming must-pass government spending bill.

We fought against Senator Manchin’s “permitting reform” bill, which was drafted by the fossil fuel industry in order to destroy important environmental protections, silence frontline communities, and fast-track pipelines and other polluting projects.  

Together, the people made their voices heard. The environmental justice movement—led by Indigenous, Black, and brown communities—showed up in force to block this Dirty Deal, alongside bold climate leaders in Congress like Rashida Tlaib. We have won a huge victory. Now, we’ve got to make sure Manchin’s bill stays gone.

Corporate polluters are already plotting with Manchin on the next piece of must-pass legislation they can attach this deal to. We need to be ready to fight them then as hard as we did this month.
