Friends, with less than six weeks until Election Day, we’re kicking our fight to root out harmful and anti-immigrant disinformation into high gear.
Bad actors are using disinformation to prevent our communities from exercising our right to vote and learning the truth about anti-immigrant candidates. It’s time to clean up the internet from their trash.

Have you ever had a family member share something on social media that wasn’t quite right? Maybe they shared posts casting doubt on the legitimacy of our elections, or misleading information about why we’re paying higher prices for things like gas and groceries?
It might not seem like a big deal, but this type of disinformation has a real impact on the way we live our lives — from who we choose to vote for, to if we even vote at all!
As the Latinx voting population becomes more important to decide the outcome of our elections, right-wing bad actors are doing everything in their power to use disinformation as a tool of division and political gain in our communities.
Over 49% of Whatsapp users identify as Latinx, which makes it the perfect place for bad actors to share disinformation and target our communities.
That’s why United We Dream Action launched Reclaim The Web: An effort to combat disinformation on Whatsapp by providing our members with trainings on how to spot and react to disinformation, and tools to inoculate their own networks with positive, factual content.
We set a goal this year of multiplying the impact and reach of our Reclaim the Web program by 10x — but we can’t expand our outreach without your support. Will you make a donation to help us mobilize our communities to defend against harmful disinformation?

We can use the power of our own social network to protect our friends and family from being targets of racialized disinformation.
Thanks for supporting our fight,
Jose, United We Dream Action
