I know you just heard from Mel yesterday and yes, while we are still behind on the projections for the House, we are gaining significant ground. It's really important right now, just about 40 days away from Nov 8, to keep our foot on the accelerator.
With a Democratic majority this past year, I've been able to introduce 17 standalone bills, cosponsor 10 bills that have become law, and cosponsor 64 bills that have passed the House. This included key provisions in the American Rescue Plan to expand the Child Tax Credit and expand Affordable Care Act subsidies. This included the Formula Act to directly help families struggling with rising costs. This included the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act where Washington has already received $2.1 billion to improve our roads, bridges, and public transit. And this included the major Inflation Reduction Act where we made monumental strides to lift up our economy and protect our environment. We also made strides to support our seniors, to establish accountability for our law enforcement, and to truly make this a country rooted in equity and freedom by supporting our Dreamers with a pathway to citizenship. There is so much more I can tell you about but the key thread is: None of this could have been possible without a strong Democratic majority and we cannot risk losing that this November.
