(3-Minute Read) Self-Care Guide now available 🫶
Hello Friend,
September is National Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month — a moment to shine the spotlight on LGBTQ youth suicide, and recommit to providing 24/7 mental health care and resources to young people. Together, we can build a welcoming, loving community for LGBTQ young people and help prevent crises by learning the warning signs of suicide and identifying suicide risk factors.
Suicide prevention often starts with ourselves. Check out our Self-Care Guide today to learn simple ways to practice self-care at home, at school, and in public:
Self-Care at Home
Do an activity that soothes you.
Collect a self-care box; collect items that relax you.
If you need extra support, reach out to the TrevorLifeline at 866-488-7386.
Self-Care at School
Write down 5 things you’re grateful for.
Reach out to a counselor or adult you trust.
If you’re in class, breathe in and out slowly.
Self-Care in Public
Pick up 2-3 natural materials and feel them between your fingers.
Contributions from kindhearted people like you make the world safer and more loving for LGBTQ young people — and ensure that Trevor can be there for them in a moment of crisis.
The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and mental health organization for LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning) young people.
