Nottingham has reduced its carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 57.7% per person in the last 15 years, the latest review of the city?s Carbon Neutral Action Plan shows.
Nottingham is aiming to be the first city in the UK to become carbon neutral by 2028, which is the most ambitious target in the country. While the climate crisis remains one of the most complex challenges that our society faces, the City Council has delivered some impressive achievements over the past year.
The City Council and partner organisations across Nottingham have been delivering the plan for two years and we?re seeing positive results. However, we need to do even more. This year we?ve seen even more extreme weather events at home and across the world, so I would like to encourage everyone to reduce their carbon footprint where they can.

We have to keep working together to reduce the spread of respiratory infections like Covid-19 and flu. It?s really important that you accept the winter protection being offered by the NHS. People who are most at risk are being invited for flu and Covid jabs to top-up their immunity, such as people over-50, pregnant women, people with health conditions and their carers, and people who work in frontline health and care jobs.
If you?re in one of these categories then you will receive a text message inviting you to book a vaccination. In Nottingham, vaccinations are taking place at the The Courtaulds Building, 292 Haydn Road, Nottingham, NG5 1EB ? as well as in pharmacies. You can see the full list of locations here.
And don?t forget: you can still book a first jab ? it?s not too late to get protected. All vaccinations, whether first, second or booster jabs, can be booked by calling 119 or visiting the NHS booking website.
