We’ve heard the word “unprecedented” a lot these past few years, but our campaign for Congress is really historic. In a moment, I’m going to ask you to chip in to our campaign, but let me explain why this is so important.

In its 225 years as a state, Tennessee has never sent a Black woman to the U.S. House of Representatives.

I’m so honored to be part of this movement to finally win progressive representation for Tennessee. We’re up against an extremist, homophobic incumbent with a huge bank account. We’re fighting back against a Tennessee GOP that will strip away our rights and freedoms. But we’ve got the people on our side.

I was amazed when we raised the most money for any Black woman candidate in Nashville history. But now, we’re facing the biggest test of our campaign yet. At midnight on Friday, September 30, we’ll close the books on the fundraising quarter, and what we raised will be public for everyone to see – and we’re still behind.

This is the last full fundraising quarter before Election Day. The stakes could not be higher.
