Argaw had his car towed. Like so many of the clients that we help through our sister organization, Spread The Vote + Project ID, his car is where he kept all of his personal belongings, including important documents like his ID.
We were able to help Argaw to get a new ID, but for so many Americans, the cost and administrative challenges involved with getting an ID are insurmountable obstacles.
Without an ID, it's virtually impossible to get a job, open a bank account, apply for housing or even visit a food bank.
We're not OK with this.
With your help, we can get candidates who support equitable ID policies elected and fight for laws like the IDs for an Inclusive Democracy Act!
