Friends,

This is going to be the longest email you’ll ever receive from me, so I’d really appreciate it if you’re able to read it all the way through.

Supporters like you are the lifeblood of this campaign. And with a little over a month before Election Day, I don’t want there to be any confusion over our team’s strategy for victory.

In a moment, I’m going to outline exactly how we plan to win this race. But first, I have to ask if you’ll chip in $25 or more before our end-of-quarter FEC deadline so that we have the resources to turn out voters on November 8th.

Step 1: Contact as many voters as possible

When I first ran for Congress in 2008 in a district that Republicans held for forty years , I knew it wouldn’t be easy.

But our team worked day-in and day-out connecting with voters of all political backgrounds, whether or not they had voted recently or identified with one party or the other. In the end, it was enough to overcome nearly a half-century of Republican control.

2022 is a different time than 2008 – but I promise that we’re getting in touch with just as many voters across CT-04 through digital ads, mail, and community events. Your contributions are crucial to the success of our revamped digital operation. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Step 2: Put Connecticut first, not special interests

Running for Congress would be a lot easier if I threw my integrity out the window and sold out to special interests in exchange for a steady stream of cash in my campaign coffers.

Instead, I’ve always put my constituents first, and I’ve stood up every day to the gun lobbies and big polluters who hold far too much power in our political system.

Despite special interests’ best efforts, House Democrats and I passed legislation that will have meaningful impacts across our country. Just this year, we lowered the costs of prescription drugs for millions, invested in American energy production, and directed billions of dollars toward rebuilding America’s infrastructure.

It’s been a great year for Democrats and we can keep up the momentum by expanding our Congressional majorities on Election Day.

Step 3: Focus on the real issues

Being a Democratic Congressman comes with a lot of outrageous partisan attacks. But you don’t win over swing voters and independents by engaging in political games – you do it by prioritizing the issues that matter most to the working families of CT-04.

Connecticut voters clearly don’t want inflammatory legislation like Senate Republicans’ heinous national abortion ban. They want real solutions that support and uplift people across our state – and electing Democrats is the best way to make those solutions a reality.

I will always stand up for our district and our values. But our final FEC deadline before Election Day is three days away – will you chip in $25 or whatever you can before September 30th to help us hit our quarterly fundraising goal and get in contact with voters across CT-04?
