Welcome to our latest edition of our NAAC e-alert. 

Nottingham’s world famous *Goose Fair* will return to the *Forest Recreation Ground* after two years away due to the Covid pandemic, from *Friday 30 September to Sunday 9 October. *This year’s Goose Fair will bring all the fun of the fair back to the city, for an extended period as a special *ten-day* event, for the first time in its long history. NAAC Music & Dance Academy 

Register at the *NAAC Music & Dance Academy classes *to learn something new - dhol, tabla, sitar, singing, etc; have fun learning to dance with our Bollywood dance class...and don't forget to let your friends and family know so that they can join in on the fun too!

Scribble Feste

Scribble Feste, is a brand-new creative writing den for young people aged 9-15. This gymnasium for the imagination is designed by young people, for young people and promises workshops and performance opportunities, laughter and creative inspiration. 

Scribble Feste is a Writing East Midlands event, sponsored by Nottingham Poetry Festival and will give you a chance to meet lots of other young people who love writing too, and leave having developed new writing skills.

Tickets are £20, but bursaries are available for anyone receiving any kind of benefits.

Please come along and share this with the young creatives that you know.

Nazrānā - An Offering - Sunday October 9 at Derby Theatre, 3pm
Nazrana

A Sunday afternoon concert at Derby Theatre by one of the UK’s top South Asian vocalist Swati Natekar will commemorate the 75th anniversary of India and Pakistan’s independence and pay tribute to India’s iconic singer, the late Lata Magheskar.

It is part of the *Derby Season of Light [ [link removed] ]* which is a family festival of activities, events and performances to celebrate the city and county’s diversity and creativity organised by Derby’s South Asian arts organisation, Surtal Arts.

Nazrānā is a very special concert that will take audiences on a nostalgic journey as Swati presents some well known and well-loved ghazals (lyrical poems expressed through music) from Pakistan as well as iconic Bollywood songs from 50’s to the 90’s sung by the late Lata Mangheskar. 

Swati, has performed across the world, and her voice also features on a Hollywood Warner Brothers movie ‘The In-Laws’, and ‘The Republic Of Love’, directed by Deepa Mehta. Having featured over 25 albums so far, Swati has also released her own Ghazal albums ‘Dhanak’ & ‘Anjuman’; a Fusion album ‘Destiny Chakra’ and Thumri album “Anuraag”. 

In this concert she will be joined by leading UK-based musicians Kamalbir Singh (violin), Mahesh Patel (keyboard/accordian), Alok Verma (percussion table) and Siddharth Singh (guitar).
