Happy holidays and THANK YOU for all of your amazing support, work, energy, and activism this year!
We accomplished a lot – from a truly historic election victory in Virginia and electing dozens of groundbreaking young progressive leaders all across the country to impeaching the president and continuing to build the movement to save our democracy from the dual scourges of voter suppression and big money in politics.
Now, we’re refining, perfecting, and scaling up the programs that are going to deliver progressive victory – and a desperately needed new course for our country – in 2020.
We can’t do any of the work we do, to defend the fundamental constitutional rights of all Americans and advance progressive values, without the support of our members like you, friend!
As you hopefully get some rest and time with family, and gear up for the big year ahead, here are some recent PFAW updates and products for you to read and explore:
We’re happy to report that the Senate just passed $425 million in spending on election security measures and upgrades in advance of the 2020 election. This was a hard fought victory and, while it’s not the full $600 million we had gotten passed in the House, it will go a long way in preserving the integrity of the next election. Thousands of PFAW members attended rallies, signed petitions, called their members of Congress, helped raise awareness about the issue on social media and more. We’re proud of your contributions to this fight.
PFAW’s Right Wing Watch recently released a new report on GOP state-level voter suppression efforts, “The Right Wing War on American Voters: Vote Suppression in the Age of Trump.” Written by Bob Moser, the report details the GOP efforts to limit the franchise to cling to power long after the public has rejected their extreme right-wing agenda. Just this past week, we unveiled our new interactive Confirmed Judges, Confirmed Fears online tool for tracking the harm being done by Trump’s confirmed federal judges. Check out the tool here>>
