John, I just wanted to make sure you saw my email below from last week about how you can help the people and families who have arrived in Chicago by bus from Texas.

Our team at the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) is on the front lines welcoming people and families and helping them understand their rights. Will you join us in supporting immigrants and asylum seekers with a donation to NIJC today?

Your donation allows NIJC to stay flexible and respond quickly to critical situations just like this. Your donation makes all the difference. I hope you will join the NIJC community and give today. Please donate at https://immigrantjustice.org/RapidResponse.

Warmly,
Kate Ramos

Subject: You can help immigrants being bused to Chicago

John, are you reading about the families and individuals who are being bused to Chicago from border states and asking yourself what can I do!? Are you enraged that the governors of Texas and Arizona are using people as political pawns to create chaos and hatred—people who have already faced horrific circumstances or are just trying to reunite with their loved ones?

You can help by donating to the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) right now. Give at https://immigrantjustice.org/RapidResponse

My name is Kate Ramos and I’m a managing attorney at NIJC. We moved quickly when we learned that buses of immigrants were going to arrive in Chicago who would need our help. I am proud that our team is on the front lines welcoming people and families to Chicago. We’ve been meeting with people to help them understand their legal options and make sure they know their rights in the United States. This is the work that my colleagues and I at NIJC do every day.

Will you join us in supporting immigrants and asylum seekers with a donation to NIJC today? You can give now at https://immigrantjustice.org/RapidResponse

Your donation will help fund life-changing legal services for immigrants and people seeking asylum. Our legal services keep families together, prevent detention and deportation, and help people start new and safe lives in the United States. Seeking asylum is a legal and human right, and we'll continue to defend it. But we can’t do this without you.

If you believe as we do that all people, regardless of where they come from or their background, deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, join us by donating now to NIJC.

Thank you for your compassion and generosity. I hope you will join the NIJC community and make a donation that could change someone’s life.

With gratitude,

Kate Ramos
