This past week, BPC experts discussed a spending deal that Congress must agree on to avoid a government shutdown, the passage of the SECURE Act, and updates in the impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

 

 

 

 

BPC's Latest Work

The Head Start program is vital to low-income children and families, however 50 years have passed since it was established, and the program's requirements are now out of date. Changes to Head Start should be considered to ensure that the most vulnerable communities have access to the early childhood servies they need.

There's a serious disagreement about the value of safe spaces on college campuses and how administrators and decision makers should address them. Free associations of students like clubs, teams, sororities, and fraternities offer an alternative to the politically-charged safe space definition while providing open intellectual exchange and fashioning a welcoming community for students.

 

In the last five debates, the Democratic candidates discussed climate change and what they can do to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but not enough time has been spent exploring what policymakers should do about the real-world impacts of climate change alraeady underway.
