We're proud that Washington has led the way in creating evidence-based interventions to help reduce firearm suicide. But 2021 saw the highest number of firearm suicides on record, highlighting how much work we have left to do.

Safe Storage Saves Lives
Reps. Jayapal (WA-07) and Curtis (UT-03) introduced a bill to help reduce gun suicides by allowing people to voluntarily and proactively place themselves onto a “do not sell” list. This innovative policy was first adopted in Washington, and it's time for the other Washington to follow suit.
