John, last Sunday night on the debate stage, Mike Flood avoided every opportunity to define where he stands on the issues.
If Mike won’t make his stances clear, then allow me to do it for him:
Mike Flood said he supports “common-sense abortion regulation,” yet he was an original co-sponsor of the trigger bill here in Nebraska which would have banned abortions without exception for rape or incest. In his answer, he tried to deflect his draconian abortion stance by painting Patty as an abortion extremist. In hers, Patty made clear that she believes in abortion that is “safe, legal, and rare.”
When asked how he would tackle inflation in Congress, Mike Flood was quick to point to the “billions and trillions of dollars in federal spending since Biden took office,” yet he offered no actual answer to the question. Meanwhile, Patty answered by reaffirming her support for lowering Affordable Care Act premiums and prescription drug costs.
When prompted to explain his position on President Biden’s plan to cancel $10,000 of student debt for low-income borrowers, Mike Flood asked “Why should an electrician and a waitress pay off the debt for a Ph.D. student or graduate?” once again offering no actual answers. In contrast, Patty explained her support for capping interest rates on student loans, expanding the Pell Grant program, and making public colleges more affordable.
Folks, if Mike Flood can’t answer one moderator’s yes or no questions about his plans for our district, why should we expect him to have any solutions in Congress? He’s already proven that he’s willing to put his party over the well-being of our people, and it’s about time we hold him accountable for it.
Patty Pansing Brooks and Mike Flood are going to take the debate stage one final time on KLKN Channel 8 this Sunday at 5:00. This is voters’ last chance to compare candidates before the polls officially open, and Patty is ready to show our district that she’s the only candidate in this race who is armed with solutions — not mud to sling.
Patty is working overtime to gear up for her last chance to reach new and undecided voters, but we need your help. John, will you donate any amount so we can carry last weekend’s momentum into her final debate on Sunday?
If you’ve saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your contribution will be processed instantly.
If we’re going to win on November 8, we need to have a strong showing on Sunday. Every dollar we raise today will directly support Patty’s debate prep, so we’re really counting on your support.
Thanks for all you do, John. This is a winnable seat — and with your help, we’ll wake up on November 9 with a new, qualified CongressWOMAN.
Onward,
Chris
