Before being elected to Congress, Lauren Underwood was a nurse. She flipped a critical seat blue in 2018 and was one of only a few Democrats to keep their seats in 2020 - by only 2 points.

Since joining Congress, Lauren has co-founded the Black Maternal Health Caucus to combat the historic health disparities and unacceptably high death rates among Black mothers.

But this year, she’s up against a far-right opponent who was recently put on the Republicans’ “Young Guns” program. As a result, we expect they’ll flood her race with millions of dollars to tip the scales in the GOP’s favor.
