If you haven’t heard by now, friend, January 6th Committee’s hearing has been postponed as Hurricane Ian approaches. We hope all of our supporters in the hurricane's path do everything they can to stay safe.
We are eagerly waiting for the Committee to reschedule their hearing as it will likely be their last before the November midterms. If Democrats fail to defend the House, The 147 could take power and this very well may be the final hearing about what really happened on January 6th, forever.
This fear became even more substantiated today as we began to read The Breach by former Virginia Congressman and January 6th Committee Investigator Denver Riggleman.
Despite being a former Freedom Caucus member, Riggleman explains that his sense of urgency as a January 6th investigator was directly inspired by The 147’s attempts to run out the clock on the investigation:
“More important, [Congressional Republicans] also had polls showing they were likely to take over the House in 2023. If they could stall until then, there wouldn’t be any committee left to investigate them. We had every reason to rush those subpoenas.”
Shockingly, however, Riggleman describes that even in Congressional office buildings, he feared interference from Republicans and their staff while working for the Committee:
“Republican members and staffers who worked to challenge the election walked the halls. Eavesdropping was an obvious risk. I had heard rumors from a former colleague that some were planning to storm our offices, as they had during the second impeachment hearings.”
Riggleman’s book reveals that there is a lot of evidence left for the Committee to share and even more truths that still need to be revealed. But right now, we need to let The 147 know we stand by the January 6th Committee.
Add your name if you agree: I stand by the January 6th Committee, the Constitution, and the truth.
