Nixon almost had Trump’s defense, and if he had Nixon would’ve stayed in office.
It’s almost universally accepted that Nixon was guilty and would’ve been removed had he been impeached. He had already lost key Republican Senators as his criminal activities to meddle in a Presidential election came to light.
But one man had a plan to save Nixon, but now his plan is saving Trump. He was Roger Ailes, the co-founder of FOX News.
Ailes’s idea was to drown out the truth by putting conservative politicians all over the TV to confuse the American people and protect Nixon from his misdeeds. He just ran out of time to help Nixon.
Whether you trust other media outlets, it’s clear FOX News almost exclusively praises Trump and derides his critics. I even had one FOX host, Stuart Varney, tell me that Trump has never lied. This is despite the fact that Trump has lied to the American people over 12,000 times in under 1,000 days.
Trump is fake news. Trump lies because the truth hurts him. Trump is weak when confronted, and that’s why we’re making huge progress despite the roadblocks put in our way by a new wave of GOP bosses.
