Shanah Tovah to all celebrating Rosh Hashanah!
This holiday marks the beginning of the Jewish New Year and the High Jewish Holidays – a time for reflection, a change in season, new beginnings, and setting intentions for the year ahead.
My Jewish heritage is extremely important to me. As the granddaughter of a Holocaust victim, I learned from a young age what can happen when we turn away from one another. Growing up, my father instilled in me the importance of social justice and the need to look out for one another – which ultimately pushed me into public service.
My family history and these lessons from childhood have had a formative impact on my approach to public service, and pushed me to pursue a new kind of politics anchored in kindness, compassion, and working to find the common ground that we all share. It’s this approach to politics that I’m excited to take with me to Washington if you choose to send me to Congress in November.
Wishing you peace, joy, and hope this holiday season,
Becca Balint
