MO Explo: Chosen - November 12
Ministry takes many forms, and it can be both exciting and challenging to discern God’s call on your life. Missouri United Methodists ages 16 years and older are invited to MO Explo, an exploration for those discerning and making sense of God’s call to ministry. We’ll gather virtually on November 12 to worship together, pray together and learn more about our own stories of call as we hear the stories of others. Learn more and register at https://www.moumethodist.org/eventdetail/16612589?month=11&year=2022&day=1&display=m
RMC Collab in Bernie - November 3
Come see what is happening in rural Missouri as people engage in mission of all kinds across our state. Join a space where rural leaders are learning, collaborating and celebrating ministry as we respond to God’s gifts in our communities. At the November RMC Collab event, we'll explore how Bernie UMC has used both the gifts and strengths of its members and its community to build relationships in the neighborhood. Re-churching Rural America
Acknowledging that something significant must happen to reverse United Methodist declines in the U.S., a retired pastor traces the historical trajectory of the denomination. The Rev. Mel West shares his ideas about re-churching rural America in a commentary featured this week by the United Methodist News Service. Read it at https://www.umnews.org/en/news/a-plan-to-re-church-rural-america.
Using YouTube for Your Church
Local churches can take great advantage of YouTube to inform the masses about their mission and activities. Beyond posting sermons, church staff should consider posting videos featuring virtual tours, service projects, testimonials and much more. Get tips from United Methodist Communications on how to make the most of YouTube at https://www.resourceumc.org/en/content/how-to-use-youtube-for-your-church.

For most congregations, attracting new people was a challenge even before the pandemic. Now, churches must focus not only on the continuing need to reach new people but also on reconnecting with the sizable percentage of those who attended regularly before COVID-19 but have not yet returned to the pews. Join Rev. Dr. F. Douglas Powe Jr., Rev. Dr. Lovett H. Weems Jr., and Rev. Dr. Jessica Anschutz for this timely and important webinar to learn ways to improve your congregation’s in-person and online worship attendance.
