Governor DeSantis to Stop CCP Influence

Last week, Governor Ron DeSantis announced executive action and legislative proposals to address threats posed by the Communist Party of China and other hostile foreign powers in cyberspace, real estate, and academia.

These measures will curtail the nefarious intentions of all seven countries on Florida’s list of countries of concern, making it more difficult for China, Cuba, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Syria, or Venezuela to engage in espionage or influence operations within Florida’s borders and preventing purchases of agricultural land and lands surrounding military bases by those governments or their agents.

Governor DeSantis Proposes Family Tax Relief

Governor DeSantis announced a portion of his tax relief proposal for the upcoming legislative session, which provides $1.1 billion in tax relief for Florida families through multiple tax holidays, if passed by the Legislature.

“I’m proud that Florida has a record budget surplus and am happy to propose historic tax relief to Florida families,” Governor DeSantis said. “This proposal will allow families to purchase items for their children at a lower cost and help families keep more money in their pockets. I look forward to working with the Legislature to bring this major relief to Florida families.”

Governor DeSantis: Florida Leads Nation with the Lowest Unemployment Rate Among Largest States and Most New Businesses

Governor DeSantis announced Florida’s unemployment rate remained strong at 2.7 percent in August, the lowest unemployment rate among the nation’s 10 largest states, and a full percentage point lower than the national rate of 3.7 percent. For 21 consecutive months Florida’s unemployment rate has been lower than the national rate.

Florida also led the nation in new business formations with 1,534,221 new businesses, outpacing second place California by more than 250,000 new business formations since January 2020.

“Florida has the lowest unemployment rate among the 10 most populous states and the highest number of new business formations because we have encouraged workforce development, kept the economy open, and put Florida families first,” Governor DeSantis said.

Governor DeSantis Awards Nearly $30 Million for Workforce Development in Florida’s Space Coast

Governor DeSantis announced nearly $30 million for workforce development in the Space Coast region as part of a multi-agency initiative to support competitive industries in the area.

“I set a goal to make Florida the best state in the nation for workforce education by 2030 — and we are doing that by making investments that expand opportunity and meet industry needs,” Governor DeSantis said. “Currently there are over 91,000 manufacturing and aerospace technology-related jobs on the space coast and this $30 million investment will build more opportunities for Floridians.”

AG Moody and Clay County Sheriff Shut Down Huge Fentanyl Operation —Seizing Enough to Kill Four Million Floridians

Attorney General Moody’s Office of Statewide Prosecution and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office teamed up to shut down a major fentanyl trafficking operation in Clay County. Attorney General Moody announced that as a result of the investigation, Clay County deputies arrested two suspects who ordered and then distributed large quantities of fentanyl to other dealers in Clay and Duval counties.

Authorities seized more than eight kilograms of fentanyl, along with assorted amounts of other drugs and paraphernalia. This is enough fentanyl to kill more than four million people.

"Fentanyl is killing Americans at a record pace, and these drug traffickers compiled enough of this deadly synthetic opioid to kill everyone within 18 counties of their criminal operation,” Attorney General Moody said. “Thankfully, working with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, we were able to take these deadly drugs off the streets before they could kill Floridians.”

CFO Jimmy Patronis: Florida Will Act Against Credit Card Companies Who Target the 2nd Amendment

Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis issued a statement following recent media reports that credit card companies are going to start tracking gun and ammunition sales.

The reports state that major credit card companies such as Visa, Mastercard and American Express have decided to apply a new sales code to distinguish firearm purchases at U.S. gun stores. Additionally, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals recently ruled on a Texas bill that major corporations, including banking institutions, do not have a right to limit American’s constitutional rights.

“The Second Amendment is foundational to our American way of life. The idea that law-abiding Americans would be put on some kind of corporate watchlist is disturbing,” CFO Patronis said. “Our rights come from our Creator, not the government, and especially not big corporations. It is clear that the actions by these credit card companies are part of a larger effort to curtail God-given constitutional rights of Americans. It is also symptomatic of the virus known as ESG, which is part of a global effort to socially re-engineer the country that we love so much. There is no way we are going to allow that to happen in the free state of Florida.”

Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez

LG Nuñez on Fox: Governor DeSantis will use Every Tool to Address the Border Crisis Because Joe Biden won’t

On Fox News, Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez explained why the Florida Legislature budgeted $12 million to remove illegal aliens to sanctuary states and cities and Governor DeSantis has acted on it:

“We received $12 million, and (Governor DeSantis) made it very clear that he was going to spend every penny of that $12 million to protect Floridians. Because what we're seeing is that fentanyl overdoses are the number one killer of individuals ages 18 to 45. Human trafficking is a major concern for our state.

“We have had state strike force teams with law enforcement here in our state, and they have interdicted, and they have been able to arrest individuals, 38 charges of human smuggling, and 58 charges of drug trafficking. This is something that should concern every single Floridian, every single American. And the governor is going to use every tool at his disposal to address this crisis because the federal government and Joe Biden refuse to do so.”
