Dear John,
Monarch butterflies have declined by more than 90% since glyphosate -- a.k.a. Monsanto’s Roundup® -- became the most widely used pesticide in the world.
Why? Because Roundup® is sprayed in huge quantities near milkweed -- baby monarchs‘ only source of food. More Roundup® = less milk weed = fewer monarchs.
But Trump’s EPA doesn’t care. In fact, the administration told Monsanto that it has their back on pesticide regulations. Now, we need Congress to step up where the EPA has failed and ban Roundup®.
Protect bees and butterflies from poisonous pesticides: Tell Congress to ban Roundup® NOW!
Over the last two decades, what used to be a roaring river of butterflies migrating to Mexico each year has become a trickle. And scientists have already warned that further decline of butterflies and other insects could lead to a “catastrophic collapse of nature’s ecosystems.”
But Roundup® is doing more than just hurting pollinators -- it’s also putting the health of our kids and all of us at risk.
Bayer-Monsanto is facing lawsuits from more than 40,000 people because they believe their exposure to Roundup® caused their cancer. Of the cases considered so far, a jury found Roundup® to be a major factor in all of them. Bayer-Monsanto has already been forced to pay more than $2 billion in damages, and they’re expecting thousands more lawsuits to be filed.
While people fight for their lives, we need to make sure no one else will be harmed. If the EPA won’t step up, we need Congress to do so. Will you help protect people and pollinators by pushing Congress to act?
Tell Congress to protect people and pollinators from Monsanto’s toxic Roundup®!
Thanks to the recent merger between Bayer the Bee-Slayer and Monsanto the Butterfly-Killer, this pesticide giant has even more resources to lobby Congress and Trump not to restrict its toxic pesticides.
The United States is falling behind on banning Roundup®. In fact, 25 countries have banned or heavily restricted its use, and a ban is picking up steam in Europe. But Bayer-Monsanto is lobbying around the world to stall as long as it can. The pesticide industry has already pressured Austria and Thailand to slow down or reverse their bans. So we have to fight back.
There’s no excuse -- the U.S. must be next. But your Representative won’t take action unless they know people like you don’t want Monsanto’s toxic Roundup® to keep harming people and pollinators. We need engaged constituents like you to take the lead and ban Roundup® now! Can we count on your support, John?
Protect bees and butterflies from Monsanto’s Roundup®: Tell your Representative to ban Roundup® NOW!
