The fight for reproductive freedom begins in Missouri, John.
We are the state where, just minutes after the far-right Supreme Court’s draconian decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Republicans made the decision to enact the nation's first ban on abortions, taking away the basic human rights of millions of people.
Cori immediately jumped into action, delivering a powerful speech to a crowd of people at the same Planned Parenthood where she had an abortion after being raped and becoming pregnant at just 17 years old. Now, Democrats across the state need our help turning out the vote and letting people know that we are the pro-human rights, pro-bodily autonomy, pro-reproductive freedom party fighting to protect and expand fundamental rights for all.
That’s why I am so proud to announce that Cori will be leading the Roe The Vote: Reproductive Freedom Tour.
We’ll be holding rallies all across Missouri with partner organizations on the frontline of the fight for reproductive freedom, the Missouri Democratic Party, and elected officials and candidates for office across the state — and we want you to join us.
Let me be clear, this fight will not be easy.
We have a Republican state party that treats Missouri as a testing ground for disastrous Trump policies. But this is also the state that sent Cori Bush to Congress — who historically shared her powerful, personal abortion story on the floor of the House of Representatives for the entire world to hear.
This fight will also not be cheap. We have gas to cover, lodging, food, water, staff to pay, literature to print, signs to be made, shirts to be designed, permits to be pulled, and that’s not to mention the cost associated with each one of our ten rallies.
