Energy Crisis: Exploring energy saving technologies for business

Thursday 27th October, 1-2pm (Online - Webinar)

Event Overview: Find out about the energy-saving technologies available to help reduce your business energy bills and available grants to support this.

Event Info: The Energy Bill Relief Scheme will provide welcome relief for businesses this winter, however energy bills are still significantly higher than last year with many businesses already under strain.

To help reduce energy bills, businesses may want to explore energy-saving technologies from solar panels to LED lighting. Each technology has its own benefits and constraints and the appropriate technology will depend on the individual circumstances of the business: roof orientation, age of the building, and cost of intervention.

This event will feature a panel of experts to help business owners: understand energy-saving technologies; how they?ve been used in different businesses; and the existing EU match-fund grants that are available*.

*Grants are subject to eligibility, including the type of business, SIC code, and location.

Panel speakers will include:

* Tim Saunders, University of Nottingham
* David Kelly, Accelerating Reduction in Carbon (ARC), Nottingham City Council
* Rose Playle, Sustainability in Enterprise (SiE), Nottingham Trent University

Nottingham City Council?s Accelerating Reduction in Carbon (ARC) project helps small and medium sized businesses in Greater Nottingham to reduce their energy bills and their carbon footprint through the introduction of energy efficiency measures.

Grants are available from the project to purchase and install solar panels, providing businesses with reduced energy bills and a degree of future energy security. Solar is becoming an increasingly popular option for businesses delivering significant energy savings.

Grants of up to ?16,000 are available to part fund solar panels. Grants are also available to support the introduction of other energy saving measures such as LED lighting, air source heat pumps and improved insulation. The grant can fund 35% of the net costs of installing solar panels and other energy saving measures.
