New to the GOTV game? Here’s a quick run-down of volunteer opportunities you can do virtually or in person (don’t worry, campaigns have training to help you get started!):
- 🚪Door-knocking: This is the OG of GOTV strategy and one of the most effective ways to turn out voters. Meet voters where they are (and get some fresh air and exercise to boot) while helping diverse young progressives win.
- ☎️ Phone Banking: Another classic campaign strategy and a great option if you aren't comfortable on doors or need a virtual option. You'll always have a script and help from staff and fellow volunteers along the way!
- 👁️ Poll Greeters: Volunteer to greet voters and support candidates by handing out flyers or holding signs outside of voting sites.
- 🪧 Yard Signs, Postcards, Literature: Talking to people not your thing? You can be your candidate's biggest stan by putting up a yard sign (or 50), creating handwritten postcards to voters, and distributing campaign mailers. Every little bit adds up.
