Hi John,

Some folks in Washington want to distill every election into a partisan choice, but I know that’s not how most Americans approach politics.

I want to be clear: In this election, I’m not asking for your support because of the party I belong to. I’m asking for your support because of the work I’ve done for my district since coming to Congress, and because of all the important work there’s still left to do.

I’m asking for your support because campaign finance reform, access to affordable health care, keeping the government out of private medical decisions, support for our seniors, the creation of good jobs, and respect for our veterans are all on the ballot this year.

Since coming to Congress, I’ve worked across the aisle to get results for my constituents on these and other important issues. In all of that work, I’ve always focused on the people – not powerful corporate lobbyists or special interest campaign donors.

So even though we may not agree on every issue, my commitment to serving this community in Congress is absolute.

But John, there are some deeply partisan groups wading into this race to bolster my opponent. If they have their way, I’ll be replaced by more of the same partisanship that we’ve all grown so sick of in Washington.

I need your help to keep up the fight against those forces here in ME-02. My team is looking to raise $35,000 by the end of the month to reach our quarterly fundraising target and keep on the path to victory in November. So while I hate to ask this, if you’re able, could you chip in anything you can afford to my campaign today?
