John -
We're quickly approaching the end of this fiscal year on September 30, which means 350.org is gearing up for a new year of inspiring, impactful, and ambitious climate campaigns to take down the fossil fuel industry.
If you have a few minutes, I'd love a moment of your time to tell you about our plans. Because our campaigns and our movement are fueled by people-power, and we will need your support to build a safer future for all, John.
But before I dive in, if you're ready to support our work in the upcoming fiscal year — so we can end the era of fossil fuels together — please chip in using the link below:

Now, let's dig in to some of the priority campaigns that 350.org is ramping up in the coming fiscal year:
End fossil fuel finance:
Fossil fuel companies are not going to stop fracking or drilling all of a sudden because it is the right thing to do. Our best course of action is to go after the flows of money that keep corporations like Exxon, Shell, and BP alive. If we cut off Big Oil's access to money, they will no longer be able to ruin our planet for profit.
But it won't be easy: it's going to take an unprecedented climate movement to demand change from financial institutions. That's why we're ramping up our fossil fuel finance campaigns all over the globe and targeting major financial institutions like the Federal Reserve. Because every time we pressure any bank, anywhere in the world, to drop a fossil fuel project, we're sending a message that we will no longer accept their climate destruction.
One example of how we are ending fossil fuel finance is by targeting the East African Crude Oil Pipeline.
#StopEACOP:
We're hard at work preventing French oil giant Total Energies from building the world's longest heated crude oil pipeline — the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP). If finished, the pipeline would cause devastation for the communities and ecosystems in Uganda and Tanzania, not to mention the effect it would have on accelerating the global climate crisis.
EACOP still has the support of the world's biggest insurance broker, and as long as that's the case, Total Energies will continue to look for ways to complete this dangerous pipeline. We've already made major headway on getting financial institutions and large insurance companies to refuse to support the pipeline, but we can't stop now.
A just and equitable transition to renewable energy:
In order to end our reliance on fossil fuels, whilst meeting the energy needs of growing populations around the world, we must build up our renewable energy infrastructure. But it also has to be done in an equitable way, through community-led energy solutions, by making clean energy jobs accessible to everyone, and with a focus on ensuring that frontline communities have the resources they need to recover from climate impacts.
Achieving this will require government-led economic shifts around the world, and it is up to us to demand that our governments take bold and ambitious climate action.
COP27:
Every year, the countries that have signed the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change meet for a Conference of the Parties (COP). Here at 350.org, we know that the outcomes of these conferences are often disappointing, but also that they receive a massive amount of global attention and news coverage. That's why we'll have boots on the ground when COP27 takes place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, in November — so we can use this moment to uplift our existing campaigns, engage new audiences around the world in our fight for climate justice, and shine a light on EACOP to stop the construction of this disastrous pipeline.
Phew! I know that was a lot of text, so thanks for bearing with me.
I hope that after reading this email, you will feel inspired to make a small contribution to support all our work towards a better and safer future for everyone:
I would be lying if I said there wasn't a lot at stake for our planet. You and I both very well know that we have to act now to prevent the worst effects of the climate crisis. But campaigns like these give me hope for a brighter future.
Thank you for helping us make this work possible.
Onwards,
May Boeve
