As Governor Walz and Lt. Governor Flanagan’s Digital Director, one of my primary responsibilities is to stay on top of our digital fundraising goals. Thanks to everyone on this incredible grassroots team, we’ve never missed.

That’s why I’m seriously concerned. I just ran a report ahead of our end-of-quarter deadline on Friday (our last of the election!), and we’re still trailing our target by $42,721. 

To tell you the truth, I can’t remember the last time online donations slowed down this much. I had to triple-check my math because I couldn’t believe it. 

John, we’re in the closing weeks of one of the most competitive races in the country, and the race is still tightening. Election analysts downgraded our chances of winning three times in a row, and the last public poll showed Scott Jensen in a statistical dead heat with Governor Walz.

Now, with Republicans pledging to spend nearly $1 million in attack ads against us in September alone, I don’t know how we’ll bounce back if we fall short on Friday – especially by this much.
