Dear John,
As the new British government launches an open attack on ecological and social justice, and economic common sense, the policies pursured have no democratic mandate.
Protests will grow and at least some Tory MPs will be getting more and more nervous. And after over a decade of Tory rule, even the financial markets seem to have lost patience with the hair-raising incompetence displayed.
Will the pressure of people and markets suffice to trigger an early election? We certainly hope so and we are getting ready. It is a pleasure to invite you to two events of your local Green Party in October:
1) On the 10th October we are getting together for our monthly meeting. Please register here:
https://actionnetwork.org/events/wcl-october-2022-monthly-meeting/
On the agenda is an update on received nominations for General Election candidates (which we plan to elect in the November monthly meeting). Please do get in touch if you'd like to stand, simply by replying to this email or by getting in touch with our Electoral Return Officer James Hewitt via [email protected]
We will also hear back from a London-wide strategy meeting, in which London Greens discussed intial plans for the 2024 London Assembly elections.
2) On Saturday the 28th October, our membership officer Kim Marshall has organised a Green Party social in the Lonsdale Pub, also on Portbello Road at 4pm. There is no agenda here, just a chance to catch up, talk local and national politics with fellow Greens.
Please register here if you plan to come so we can get a big enough table:

Hope to see you soon!
Best wishes
Fabian
