I won't let them

I shared with you my answers to
the Republic’s Taylor Seely's Q&A to the city council candidates.

These two paragraphs in Seely’s article are why you should be alarmed.

"Gallego and Councilmember Debra Stark support former Phoenix police officer and Arizona State University professor Kevin Robinson. Councilmembers Carlos Garcia and Betty Guardado want labor union employee Kellen Wilson.

And DiCiccio has endorsed Sam Stone, who resigned as his chief of staff to run for the seat."

Is this Chicago politics being played out in real time? Community members believe the politicos are focused on stacking the City Council with their friends so they can pass their own personal agendas.

Political endorsements, regarding this race for Phoenix City Council District 6, are the candidate’s politician friends attempting to tip the election scale to their favor.

Community members are also concerned that some endorsed candidates may prioritize their allegiance to their benefactors before the needs of our community and city.

This article from Ahwatukee Foothills News, reporting on the Ahwatukee Candidate Forum, may lend credence to their concerns.

"Robinson – who has strong endorsements by the city’s Democrat establishment – avoided criticizing its leaders."

A community member said to me "They are fighting for themselves and not for me."

Do you want another 4 years of insider politics and a dysfunctional city council?

If your answer is no, the choice is clear.

As your Councilwoman my allegiance is only to you. I will
tackle the daunting challenges that are facing Phoenix with transparency and integrity.

I won't let them stack the deck against you, but I need to increase our fundraising efforts before Election Day. Can you chip in $15 or anything you can right now to help send Joan to City Hall this November?

The amount isn’t as important as the donation itself because it’s going to take a lot of people chipping in as much as they can to reach our goal. A win this November is a win for our families and businesses.

Thank you for your trust and support,

Joan Greene
