Not long ago, some lawmakers would not go on the record with an opinion on gun violence prevention, because they feared the gun lobby backlash. Now our lawmakers are finally acknowledging NRA extremism – and taking a stand against it. The NRA's stronghold on Congress is continuing to weaken and Brady won’t stop working until they are fully exposed.
Gun violence prevention champions in the majority means passing bipartisan common sense legislation that will save lives – as we witnessed this summer when the House passed an assault weapons ban and community violence prevention bills.
We’ve worked in states across the country to make this a reality and we need your help to keep up the momentum. This year we even saw the likes of Senators Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn vote against NRA opposition in support of a bipartisan gun violence prevention bill that President Biden signed into law this year.
We’ve got a long way to go before those Senators end their legislative obstruction to strengthen and expand background checks and pass an assault weapons ban, and getting there depends on keeping up this momentum and I need your help.
