My campaign is about to report our fundraising to the FEC. It’s the final quarterly reporting deadline before Election Day, and all eyes will be on our numbers to see if: A. We have the strength to defend this seat, or B. We’re in a position of weakness, which will motivate the GOP to pile on attacks.
As I write to you, we’re facing a $17,781 shortfall.
I need to explain to you why this cannot happen ahead of an FEC deadline – and why I’m counting on you to make your very first donation at this urgent moment.
But first, let me say how deeply appreciative I am for your support of this campaign. This operation is powered by people like you – people who believe in our shared Democratic values; who are committed to fighting back against Trump, McConnell, and GOP extremists everywhere; and who contribute their time and talent to protect every Democratic seat.
However, with Mitch McConnell only needing to flip a single seat to take back control, there’s no room for error or falling short on resources. Especially now, when RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and Senate GOP campaign Chairman Rick Scott have descended on Connecticut to help fundraise for my Trump-endorsed opponent.
It’s clear they are making this seat a target. It’s clear that in the final, most crucial weeks of the election, we must be in a position of strength to fight back. Which means it’s clear that I cannot fall short ahead of the most important fundraising deadline of the campaign.
It’s your donation, Friend, that could prevent us from publicly reporting that we are under-resourced. It’s your donation that will ensure we can combat GOP attacks, win, and protect and EXPAND Democratic Senate control.
Thank you,
Dick
