[1]Cori Bush

Hi John, it's
Bernie Sanders.

Just like with her constituents, Congresswoman Cori Bush has always had my
back. Right now, campaigns across the country are working hard to
fundraise ahead of the final FEC end-of-quarter deadline before Election
Day — and I want to share why I think Cori’s campaign in particular is
deserving of your attention.

I'll explain more in just a moment, but first, I have to ask:

[ [link removed] ]Will you show your support for Cori and chip in $5 or
anything you can toward her re-election campaign? The end-of-quarter
deadline is in just four days, so we must do everything in our power to
make sure she can continue her work in Congress.

Why?

Cori is a fierce leader and working class mother of two kids — and exactly
the person we need driving our progressive movement in Congress. As a
nurse, pastor, and activist, she has always been involved in her community
— and she brings her lived experience to Congress to fight on behalf of
working families everywhere.

She’s ready to take action for her community. After the murder of Michael
Brown Jr. in 2014 just minutes from where she lived, Cori stepped up to
serve her neighbors as a nurse and faith leader on the front lines of the
movement — protesting in defense of Black lives for more than 400 days.

Cori puts in the work, especially when it's inconvenient and
uncomfortable. When Congress failed to provide sufficient eviction
protections in the wake of the pandemic and promptly went to recess — Cori
took direct action, with a round-the-clock protest lasting four nights and
five days on the Capitol steps. Her organizing work earned the attention
of President Biden and resulted in the extension of the eviction
moratorium.

That’s not all. When attacks on abortion rights started escalating, Cori
bravely began sharing her own story — at 17 she was assaulted, became
pregnant, and then had an abortion. We urgently need to pass reproductive
health protections, something Cori tragically knows firsthand.

[ [link removed] ]I’m proud to endorse Cori and ask you to join me in supporting her
candidacy with a contribution of $5 today because her work
speaks for itself.

As Cori's colleague, I know her commitment to progressive causes helps
amplify the work we’re doing nationwide. Together, Cori and I have been
working to push forward the fight to pass Medicare for All and a Green New
Deal. Most recently, we joined together to successfully urge President
Biden to leverage the Defense Production Act to fund climate action
investments.

Here’s the challenge: Corporate PACs and special interests are spending
millions this election cycle to attack progressive leaders like Cori. Take
it from me, it couldn't be more important that we all show up as a
movement to support Cori through this election.

We must send a loud message that we will not back down in our mission to
dismantle systemic racism in America and pass transformative policies that
lift ALL of our families up. [ [link removed] ]That’s why I’m asking for you to support
Cori with a donation today,
John:

Thank you for being a part of this,
