Hey Friend,

Today, Amazon will be premiering Ring Nation. What do we have to say about that? Watch our latest video, exposing the truth about how Amazon has been profiting off of the exploitation of Black and brown people through their doorbell surveillance.

While marketed as the next America’s Funniest Home Videos, Ring Nation is making light of the actual harm Amazon’s Ring cameras cause Black and brown people.

Earlier today, MediaJustice partnered with our allies in a banner drop at the MGM National Harbor in Maryland. With your help, MediaJustice, Fight for the Future, the Athena Coalition, and For Us Not Amazon sent the MGM: Cancel Ring Nation petition with 60,000 signatures to Mark Burnett, Chairman of MGM Worldwide Television Group, and Barry Poznick, President of MGM Unscripted Television and Orion Television.

For years, we at MediaJustice have opposed the thousands of police partnerships Amazon has created through the obtaining and sharing of Ring data. The digital “Stop and Frisk” perpetuated by Ring is harmful to our communities, and Ring Nation is being used as both a marketing tool and a shameful PR stunt to distract people from the real harm being used to exploit us.

We hope you stand with us and continue to fight against racial profiling and police violence against Black lives.
