Written by the American Petroleum Institute, the bill would destroy protections in place under the National Environmental Policy Act and Clean Water Act. It silences most affected communities from speaking up against proposed extractive projects and edges them out of the judiciary process, working in direct opposition to climate action. While the bill is being promoted by Senators Manchin (D-WV) and Schumer (D-NY), others like Representative Grijalva and Senator Sanders are fighting back.

The decision will be made by the Senate this week. To keep it from going through we need to make our voices heard now.
