FairVote

John -

Evanston, Illinois - a major suburb north of Chicago - will have the opportunity this November to approve ranked choice voting (RCV) for local elections. We couldn’t be more excited for this big step forward for RCV in Illinois!

On Monday, October 3 at 4 pm CT/5pm ET, FairVote will host a webinar with Mayor Daniel Biss, Andrew Szilva of FairVote Illinois, and Brian Bosire of FairVote Minnesota. Panelists will discuss what RCV would mean for Evanston and Illinois, as well as how implementation of RCV has gone in similar diverse cities in the Midwest.

If Evanston approves RCV, it will become the first Illinois city to use RCV for all voters. The city of Springfield already allows overseas voters to use ranked ballots so that they don’t need to get a second ballot shipped across the world to vote in runoff elections.

We hope you can join us on October 3! Don't forget to RSVP today.

With thanks,
