This Friday on September 30, our campaign faces our most important fundraising deadline yet: our final FEC end-of-quarter filing deadline of this race.

I hope you’ll give me a moment to explain why reaching our goal before this deadline is so crucial for our campaign to flip NM-02 in November.

In June, we won the New Mexico Democratic primary election for the 2nd congressional district with an overwhelming majority of the vote, solidifying our place on the general election ballot against MAGA extremist Rep. Yvette Herrell. But with that victory has come massive TV and radio ad buys by Republican super PACs trying to attack me and re-elect Herrell this fall.

The truth is, as a grassroots campaign going up against a Trump-backed incumbent with massive resources, we have had our work cut out for us.

But I know that with enough people coming together, we can overcome Herrell, Trump, and the Republican super PACs, and we can give NM-02 a true representative in Congress who will actually fight for the best interests of the people.

Herrell wants to ban abortion nationwide and has voted against capping insulin costs, raising the minimum wage, protecting our environment, and even certifying the 2020 presidential election results.

I will fight for reproductive choice, lowering healthcare costs, creating better-paying jobs, conserving our public lands, taking action on climate change, passing comprehensive immigration reform, and expanding our voting rights — but we have to defeat Herrell and flip this seat in six weeks to make it happen.

Once we report our fundraising numbers to the FEC at the end of this quarter, they’ll go public for everyone — including Herrell and her far-right backers — to see.
