Hi,

Publicly, Amazon has touted its plan to be carbon neutral by 2040, but in
practice they’ve increased carbon emissions by 40% since 2019.^1

Amazon will continue to say one thing and then do another for as long as
they can get away with it. That’s why it’s up to activists like you and me
to speak up and hold them accountable.

Every tentacle of Amazon’s operations are carbon-dirty. From their fleet
of delivery trucks, to their warehouses and their vast array of server
farms. But it may be even worse than we think!

Amazon has made a practice of copying the goods that small businesses sell
on their platform and then offering them for a cheaper price as part of
the Amazon Basics brand. That’s everything from tupperware to luggage to
batteries. But that also means Amazon has massive global supply chains to
manufacture these “cheaper” products, and each one has their own carbon
emissions.^2

Instead of diligently working to meet environmental goals that Amazon set
for itself, they’re increasing carbon emissions and adding to the climate
change crisis that’s impacting the entire planet.

Amazon says they want to be carbon neutral by 2040 but they haven’t done
enough to get there. What they’re actually doing is the opposite:
increasing their carbon emissions, and hoping no one cares enough to
notice.

That’s not going to work anymore. It’s time for you and me to speak up and
hold Amazon to their own climate commitments.
