Friend, I’m sure that you weren’t expecting to hear from me today, but I’m reaching out to you now not as an actor, or a former (fictional) President, but as a concerned fellow American. Before I explain why, let me personally ask you to make a matched $5 contribution to my friends at the DSCC to help them hold the Senate majority >>
I’ve been an activist for almost my entire life, and I have to be honest with you -- I can’t ever remember a midterm election with more at stake than this one. And now, with just weeks left to go and some early voting already starting, we all have a choice to make.
Will we do everything we can to hold the Democratic Senate majority -- the majority that confirmed Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, passed historic infrastructure and climate change legislation, and achieved the most meaningful gun safety reforms in nearly 30 years? Or will we let Republicans retake power and drag our country backward?
I just talked with the folks over at the DSCC, and they told me they have an important end-of-quarter fundraising deadline in just a few days that will go a long way toward deciding which choice we'll make in this election. They're running short of their must-hit goal, so I agreed to step in and help -- but I can't do it alone.
A group of generous donors is TRIPLING the next $10,000 contributed to the DSCC to make sure they have the resources to defend our Senate majority. So please, rush $5 (becomes $15) to help us defeat the forces looking to drag us backward >>
Two years ago, together, we saw through the fog of deception, divisiveness, and selfishness that defined the Trump era. We remembered something that is a deep part of our humanity -- and that is that we serve ourselves best when we serve others first.
We can't forget that part of ourselves and go back to the way things were going under Republican rule.
That's why this election is so important -- not just to me, but for you, too. So please: Join me right now and make your matched contribution to defend our Democratic Senate.
Thank you, Martin Sheen
