Late Friday night, an Arizona judge ruled that because the Supreme Court overturned Roe, an abortion ban from 1901 is now the law of the land in our state.

The law is one of the most restrictive in the country and doesn’t even allow exceptions for rape and incest.

To say I am shocked would be a lie. History has shown us time and time again that federal and state Republican leaders are willing to do anything to strip women of their health care freedoms.

It must be said, as well, that the Senate can and should act to bypass the filibuster to protect women.

Senator Sinema is one of the the two votes needed to do it, but she refuses. Instead, she is in Kentucky today speaking with Mitch McConnell, giving a lecture on bipartisanship.

To say I am shocked about this would also be a lie.

This is a devastating day for all Arizonans.

We deserve better.
