In less than an hour (2pm EST), social media is blowing up with #WorldContraceptionDay posts. If you want to join, we made it super easy by releasing this new report today showing how hard it is for young people to access birth control pills under the prescription-only system.
We've told one part of the story in graphics below. Feel free to copy how we've done it exactly - the more this gets out there, the better!
First, we asked 243 people from across the United States about attempting to get on birth control pills as young people. Turns out, a lot of them struggled:
55% of respondents (133 people) actually failed to get on birth control pills when they wanted because the prescription-only system was so hard to navigate! So we asked them why it was so hard:
So many people faced travel and scheduling issues, that they often went without birth control. The results were serious:
