John, I know that the last few months have been a confusing and scary time for many women in our state and throughout the country. With the constant threat of losing their rights hanging over their heads, women are scared and outraged and ready to continue the fight for their lives.
SHOW YOUR SUPPORT AND STAND WITH HOOSIER WOMEN [[link removed]]
And they are not alone. The ACLU of Indiana along with Planned Parenthood and other women’s healthcare initiatives, filed suit last month against the abortion bans within our state. The lawsuit claims that the abortion ban conflicts with our state’s constitution by interfering with individual family planning decsions.
Well John – last week a Judge ruled in favor of the ACLU and Hoosier women and held that there was sufficient merit to the case. Enough to cease enforcing the law until the lawsuit officially goes to trial.
So what does this mean?
It means that for now, abortion clinics will reopen in the state, with laws reverting to the laws on the books before the ban went into place.
While the stay of the abortion ban is promising, what we really need is assurances at the federal level. John, it is time that we stand with women and officially codify Roe at the highest level.
Todd Young has had the last 10 years in Washington to make positive changes for Hoosiers. Instead of helping, he has actively worked to strip women of their rights.
As your next Hoosier Senator, I promise that restoring and protecting women’s rights will be my top priority. Will you chip in $100, $50, $25, or $10 to ensure that women win on election day? [[link removed]]
