Hi John,

Tomorrow morning we’ll be live streaming our event on the future of money and banking at the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool. [1] It’s all about the digital opportunities that mean how we pay for things could change drastically in the next decade. But will it be big banks and card companies or people and communities that benefit?

Dame Angela Eagle MP, Guardian Journalist Kalyeena Makortoff, Tulip Siddiq MP, and the head of banking at the Post Office Ross Borkett are joining our director Fran Boait for a lively debate on this tomorrow.

It runs from 9.15 - 10.30am. So if you’d like to tune in, please click this link at 9.15am on Tuesday morning to watch the event live on Positive Money’s YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/U5gWeUVe13o

If you can’t make it tomorrow, the recording will go up on Positive Money's YouTube channel afterwards. [2]

In the meantime, here’s some more information about the event…

Digital innovation is changing the way we make payments, and it has the potential to transform our wider economy. There are big risks - the decline of cash and in-person banking services are making payments inaccessible for big chunks of society. But there’s also scope for a safe and inclusive digital pound that’s universally accessible, like cash.

Right now, the Bank of England and policy makers are looking into these changes. So it’s a ripe time to discuss the decisions we need to make as a society, and what Labour’s vision for a modern money system could be.

Positive Money is determined to create a fairer money and banking system and our party conference event is a chance to work together towards that. We hope you enjoy the event tomorrow.
