Friend,

In just a few days, my fundraising numbers will go public.

That's right. When the books close on September, our campaign is required to report our quarterly fundraising to the FEC. Political pundits, Mitch McConnell, and national Republicans will be watching closely to see if our campaign truly has the strength to defend this seat – and with it, Democratic control of the Senate.

With the GOP gearing up for a fight, we cannot be in a position of weakness.

Trump darlings Ronna McDaniel and Rick Scott – heads of the RNC and Senate GOP campaign arm, respectively – have descended on Connecticut to hold big money fundraisers for my opponent, who herself is a Trump acolyte.

Rick Scott even bragged that he thinks Republicans are on track to flip this seat to take back the Senate. With everything from gun safety to reproductive freedoms to democracy itself on the line, we cannot let them win.

So we've set our most important fundraising goal yet of this campaign: $30,000. I've asked this team to come through in tough moments before, and I know you'll do it again. I know you care too much about control of the Senate to do otherwise. So please, ahead of the final and most important quarterly FEC deadline, can you donate $5 or whatever you can spare to help me hit this goal, protect Connecticut's seat, and defend Democratic control of the Senate?

Thank you,

Dick
