Hello BNC! I write to you guys often about change, about policy, and about a better America for us all with the hope of a Brand New Congress. 

Today is my birthday and, just like many of you, I am reflecting on the past year. It’s hard to turn on the news every day, or for many of us to even open our mailboxes. So many of us are burdened with systemic issues that make our lives harder. A broken immigration system. A broken criminal justice system. A broken healthcare system. Climate and ecological crises that have hit home. Skyrocketing housing costs as our paychecks stretch to make ends meet.

As I look at a handmade birthday card from my daughter today, I am reminded that these problems are more than talking points. They are affecting us. They are affecting our communities and the people we love. 

But, I am also reminded, there’s hope. I’ve been lucky enough this year to meet with dozens of progressive candidates and hear their stories of struggle and the stories of their communities first hand. I can genuinely say, the future representatives on BNC’s slate are stepping outside of the box to make a real and bold change. They and their teams are making tremendous sacrifices to bring voters a progressive choice on the ballot. 

I’ve learned, we all have the power to make a change. Every voter, supporter, activist, organizer, and volunteer holds the ticket in their hands to a new Congress that truly represents us all. 

That’s why, on my birthday, I’m asking you to help our candidates become representatives because WE ALL deserve a House and Senate that’s made up of authentic, unbought representation. Can you contribute just $3 today? I’m working today to help reshape Congress, will you join me?
