Discovery—Ordinary and Extraordinary Saints: Considering Modern Saints Who Worked for Justice
with the Rev. Liz Edman, Ruth Frey, Barbara Lau, and the Very Rev. Dr. Kelly Brown Douglas
In-person and online | Sundays at 10am at Trinity Commons (76 Trinity Place, New York City)
Discovery is Trinity’s education series for adults interested in how scripture and theology can inform, shape, and enrich our lives. This season, we learn about the lives of modern-day saints—including Pauli Murray, World War I nurse Edith Cavell, and journalist Elizabeth Burrow—and explore what they can teach us about our own life of faith.
October 9: The Rev. Pauli Murray had a profound impact on the judicial system and racial equity in this country. Join Barbara Lau, Executive Director of the Pauli Murray Center, to learn about Murray’s life and legacy.
October 16: Join the Very Rev. Dr. Kelly Brown Douglas, Dean of the Episcopal Divinity School at Union Theological Seminary and Trinity’s Theologian-in-Residence as she discusses the spirituality of the Rev. Pauli Murray and how her faith fueled her work for justice
