Earlier this month, I was so proud to represent YOU at a White House event celebrating the Inflation Reduction Act – the largest investment in climate action in U.S. history.
This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work and commitment of MCV members, staff, allies, local elected officials, and climate activists who have worked together over many years to pass federal climate change legislation. It feels so good to win!
It was a great day at the White House, where we celebrated with President Biden, Vice President Harris and our colleagues from across the country. Please help us thank the congressional leaders from Maine who helped get this historic legislation over the finish line. Click here to add your thanks.
The Inflation Reduction Act will move Maine forward in our transition to clean energy. By 2030, it will help the U.S. cut climate pollution by 40 percent, create up to 1.5 million jobs, and help prevent up to 3,900 premature deaths from pollution-linked causes. It’s not perfect and includes some harmful provisions for fossil fuel development that we fiercely oppose, but it is a giant step forward in tackling climate change.
