Quarterly Board Meeting Summary
Held on Thursday, September 22, 2022

  • 11,987 current members as of 9.22.22, a 3.2% decrease from 6.23.22. The decrease is a result of post-pandemic CPL class demand decline combined with normal summer lull.

  • MCRGO's Modern Rifle Course is approved for implementation.

  • The Master Instruction Selection Process Revision is approved.

  • MCRGO-PAC has completed its tripartisan endorsements and is now dissolved until 2024.

  • The Upper Peninsula Picnic had record attendance in 2022. It will move to a new location in 2023 to avoid the necessity of obtaining a temporary food license from Marquette County.

  • MCRGO to explore having an interactive smokeless range simulator at the outdoor shows beginning in 2024. No animal or humanoid targets to be used.

  • MCRGO's website, non-profit registration, and insurance policies have all been renewed.

  • MCRGO's annual meeting small group breakouts are anticipated to focus on a revision of MCRGO's website in 2023 with the goal to achieve a more modern, cleaner looking site design.

  • MCRGO's renewal of the sponsorship for the freshman legislators orientation is approved.

  • MCRGO supports HB 6338.

  • MCRGO supports HB 6352.

  • MCRGO supports HB 6353.
