We’ve selected three recent blogs for you to enjoy as the seasons change.
Dear John,
As the seasons change, it's the perfect time to catch up on some reading. Here are three pieces from our blog that we're sure you'll enjoy.
A new age of female representation in Nepal
Women made significant gains in Nepal’s 2018 elections. However, due to a low female literacy rate, many female elected representatives are struggling to meaningfully participate. Thanks to a grant from the Jo Cox Foundation, Womankind is working with three partners to provide skills training for these trailblazing female politicians, so they can effectively represent their communities. Read how elected official Suna (pictured left), who is a Dalit woman and lone parent, was supported through the project here.
Becoming a better ally
We've all been there. Someone makes a sexist remark and it goes unchecked. Sometimes we even plague ourselves with guilt for not speaking up. In this blog piece, we explore how sexist comments have far deeper implications in our society and share some tips on how to challenge sexist language when it occurs.
With more and more of our lives lived online, it's crucial that no one is left behind. Read how our partner Voices for Women Media are bridging the digital skills gap for young women in Nepal.
As ever, it is your support that enables us to strengthen the women's movement in Africa and Asia. By investing in women's rights organisations today, we're protecting the rights and security of women and girls tomorrow.
We thank you for your enduring support.
With best wishes,
Hannah Little
