I’ll be direct, John.
I’m reaching out to ask you to make a contribution to my campaign. December is an important fundraising month, so I hope you’ll give me a moment to explain why this request is so crucial.
December 31st marks our final FEC reporting deadline of 2019. That means at the beginning of the new year, we’ll publicly report how much we’ve raised and how many individual donors have contributed to our campaign since I was elected.
As you may have seen, our presumptive opponent released a General Election poll showing us in a 43%-43% tie. Shortly after, Republicans began sharply ratcheting up their attacks against me -- and we only expect them to increase in intensity.
With our deadline approaching, it’s so important that we send a message to the GOP that they’re no match for our grassroots team. So we set an ambitious online fundraising goal, but with ten days left, we’re falling a bit short and need help catching up.
Can I can on you to contribute $ to help us pick up the pace so we can hit our FEC fundraising goal? Please know that I wouldn’t reach out directly like this if it weren’t important.

The truth is, I’m more than confident in the strength of our grassroots team. Your donations, the time you spend volunteering, even the conversations you’re having with friends and neighbors about our work in Washington -- it all adds up to a winning effort.
We’re doing something that’s never been done in this district: run a locally-grown, grassroots campaign that’s powered by thousands of individual donors and without a cent from a corporate PACs. I know some in Washington may see that as a vulnerability, but I see it as our biggest strength.
Before our deadline hits, please add a contribution of $ to help us hit our FEC goal. I know we can get there, but it’s going to take all of us working together to do it.
All my best,
Mike
