The US Must Do More to Address Climate Change

Industrial countries like the United States have contributed the most to climate change and the global crises it has created. Yet our government has long resisted taking responsibility for its pollution and has failed to provide adequate resources to help the world respond to the climate crisis.

As we approach the United Nations Climate Summit this fall, tell President Biden and his climate negotiators we must do more!

Every Car Can Drive Change

Did you know that 95 percent of a car's lifetime is spent parked? That's right: Only 5 percent of a vehicle's life is spent on the road! Do you have a car, truck, trailer, boat, or motorcycle that you barely use or is not as reliable as it used to be? You can drive change by donating your vehicle, and we'll use the funds to support our work empowering people to safeguard the health of our communities, protect our natural resources and wildlife habitats, and advocate for a just, clean energy future.

Our partners at CARS will pick up your vehicle from any location, no matter its condition, and at no cost to you.

Start Ups, Shut Downs, and Malfunctions

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) allows many fossil fuel power plants, refineries, incinerators, chemical plants, and other industrial facilities throughout the country to release deadly air pollution spikes into fenceline communities during facility start ups, shutdowns, and malfunctions (SSM). Last week, the Sierra Club formally petitioned the EPA to eliminate nearly 100 of these dangerous and unlawful loopholes. Now we need public pressure to clean up our communities.

Tell the Army Corps: Shut Down Line 5!

The Line 5 oil pipeline has spilled into waterways connecting to the Great Lakes 33 times since 1968. Now, the US Army Corps of Engineers is considering relocating the pipeline into a tunnel under an important waterway in Michigan, further endangering surrounding communities and freshwater access.
